My husband and I have been married for a little over 3 years and are (eagerly!) anticipating the arrival our first child next month. For our anniversary this year, I was three months pregnant and really looking forward to a super-indulgent meal. I nearly jumped out of my seat when I discovered the restaurant offered non-alcoholic wines on their menu! Here is what I was tasting at our delicious (and definitely indulgent) dinner:
2013 Gewürztraminer Grape Juice, Navarro Vineyards, Philo, CA(Non-Alcoholic) The vineyard specializes in this grape and bottles a non-alcoholic version each year to honor the flavors of the grape on the vine. Within a few hours of picking, the grapes are pressed and the juice is quickly refrigerated in a stainless steel tank until it reaches 33 degrees Fahrenheit. It's then filtered to prevent fermentation and bottled. It is divine!
Jean Georges, NYC
Diver Scallops, followed by Vermicelli in Cream Sauce with Shaved White Truffles (picture attached), then Parmesan Crusted Chicken, and ending with a Mini Chocolate Mouse Cake (with Gold Dust!)
The sweet wine was a delicious and refreshing match for the salty, decadent meal.
