2004 R. Lopez de Heredia, Vina Gravonia Crianza, La Rioja Alta, Spain
I imagine sitting in the cellar of this glorious winery in La Rioja, Spain. The cellar, untouched since 1877, is slowly aging some of the world's finest wines.
This white is oxidized giving it a slightly nutty flavor which makes it a great wine to pair with food. I had it with an assortment of Manzanilla olives, Manchego cheese, Marcona almonds and fennel sausage.
An old school wine with a new cult following, the Gravonia brings me into the world of tapas and siestas. Eating, drinking and napping sounds like the life to me!
