This week, we taste a delicious summer sipper from Valencia on Spain's Mediterranean coast: Bodegas Mustiguillo's 2012 Mestizaje Blanco. An almost extinct indigenous grape called Merseguera makes up the majority of this delicious white blend, along with Viognier and Malvasia. The palate brings loads of briny minerality, fennel and lemon rind. We think it would pair wonderfully with all manner of shellfish, ceviche or a watermelon & feta salad. And to top it off, it’s one of only fourteen Vinos de Pagos in Spain, which means this vineyard is its own region.
It's a great value for outdoor entertaining, or drinking on the porch at the end of the day.
