Last week we attended an industry tasting hosted by famed importer Frederick Wildman. This tasting was focused on their best Burgundy producers to showcase the current vintage. All the wines were amazing, as expected! But here were some of our stand outs:
Domaine Christian Moreau has always been one of our very favorite Chablis producers, and they once again did not disappoint. The whole line up was tasting extremely well.
Domaine Billaud-Simon's Grand Cru "Vaudesir" was clean and pretty, with notes of pears, honey, dried white flowers and a zippy mineral finish.
We particularly loved the Château Fuissé "Le Clos". This is one of their single vineyard wines that has great ageing potential. Learn more about this producer here.
Domaine Armand Rousseau is an epic producer in Burgundy, known for their 8 Grand Cru hectares, located mostly in Gevery-Chambertin. These wines are impeccable and scarce. Although the 2014 vintage is gorgeous now, these wines are still extremely young and will benefit immensely from some time in bottle.
