From food trucks to hot chocolate & s’more stations, it seems there are endless ways to make food interesting and interactive at your wedding. But what about the wine? Wine always plays a part at a wedding, so having a nice selection is important, but making wine just as fun as your candy buffet can be a challenge.
Our thematic wine stations will surely keep your guests engaged and excited. The DYO Wine Cocktail station is a great way to enhance a reception, before or after the ceremony.
WINE COCKTAIL STATION
With our wine cocktail station guests can create wine cocktails with different flavored bitters, garnishes, spirits, and sparkling wine toppers. This interactive experience is a great way to engage wine lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike. We always like to have several suggested, themed cocktails that give examples of flavors that work well together.
The first step is choosing BITTERS. Guests can select a flavor they fancy from an array of options. They then will coat their empty glass with several drops of their chosen flavor.
The next step is to choose is the BASE for your wine cocktail. This can be sparkling wine, sake, red wine, even beer! This all depends on the main style you want for your cocktail.
Step 3 is to choose your MIXER. This can be anything from vermouth to fruit shrubs! We find the mixer is a great way to add depth, a touch of unique flavor and (sometimes, in the case of shrubs) sweetness to your cocktail.
The second to last step is the TOPPER. This is an optional splash of something fizzy to brighten the texture up. You can use sparkling wine, sparkling cider, or sparkling water.
Lastly, choose your GARNISH. We like to keep the garnishes seasonal, for instance, using citrus rinds in summer or rosemary sprigs in winter. But, we always go local!
